Ilias Kyriopoulos is a Fellow at the Department of Health Policy, having recently submitted his PhD in Health Policy and Economics. During his PhD studies at the LSE, he worked as a Research Associate at LSE Health. Ilias has also conducted research for international governmental and non-governmental organizations, including the United Nations Development Programme and the World Bank.
His current research focuses on the impact of economic uncertainty and conditions on health outcomes, on inequalities in health and health care and on the economics of mental health and wellbeing. His work has been published in various journals, including Social Science & Medicine, Journal of Epidemiology & Community Health etc. At the LSE, he teaches courses in health financing and policy, health economics, economic evaluation in health care and statistical methods.
He holds an MSc in Economics (LSE), an MSc in Health Management (Athens School of Public Health) and a BSc in Economics (University of Athens). During his studies, he was an Onassis Scholar and an IKY (Greek State Scholarship Foundation) Scholar.
